Training educators and community members to provide comprehensive, interdisciplinary, evidence-based, age-appropriate sexuality education to the young people in their midst.
I am a Family Nurse Practitioner and sexuality educator focused on equity, cultural competence and providing useful tools and resources for young people to understand themselves and their world.
What I offer
For community members, I offer small group conversations on topics including gender, bodies, consent, how babies are made, and sex.
In a forum where you may speak openly among peers about your hopes, fears and hang-ups about your young person’s sexuality education we will discuss relevant sexuality topics. I provide fresh context for approaching these subjects, useful resources and facilitate the conversation to establish camaraderie from shared experiences.
At the end of the conversation, participants will have a broader understanding of the sexuality education topic, new techniques for addressing educational moments and evidenced-based books and resources to use. The goal is to take the awkwardness out of tough conversations with your young people.
For year-round and seasonal outdoor and experiential educators I offer trainings to “see, seize and facilitate well” the multitude of health and sexuality education moments that occur throughout your program.
Our conversations will bring into focus the moments in your teaching in which you are doing health education and provide you with some helpful tools and language that align with the mission and values of your organization.
Connecting facts from natural history to human patterns we add fun ways for students to think about their changing bodies and their connection to the environment.
By the end of the training, participants will be able to identify health education opportunities when they arise, and facilitate them effectively and comfortably.
